Emu Analytics has been named one of the finalists of United Utilities’ 10 week Innovation Lab. We are excited to be amongst the eight companies tasked with assisting United Utilities in finding solutions to their problems and demonstrate our software in a live environment.
With over 5000 employees serving millions of customers, United Utilities Group is the biggest listed water company in the UK managing the regulated water and wastewater network across North West England. Yet, good performance requires innovation to arising challenges to sustain both quality and efficiency. This is why United Utilities hosts the Innovation Lab where companies across industries get invited to present their ideas and technologies to enhance essential components of United Utilities’ business.
The challenges of improving water treatment, optimising efficiency processes, physical network operations, asset management, responding to customer services and needs, knowledge sharing across United Utilities employees and effective integration & analysis of data into operations arranged into four categories: The Future of Water, Connected Customers, Empowered, knowledgeable colleagues and Right Information, Right Place, Right Time, for which Emu Analytics was selected.
Emu Analytics’ Strength - Right Information, Right Place, Right Time
This category centers on delivering the right information to the right place at the right time to the key decision maker as well as developing a system that enables all elements to run without disruptions. Thanks to a wide range of tracking sources United Utilities has acquired a wealth of data on customers, weather developments, asset performance & condition as well as other incidents which has the potential to improve the performance in multiple ways. However, this data tends to be intangible and lacking a central system that captures, analyses and translates it into understandable and applicable insight to inform forecasting and decisions by the relevant actor.
This is where Emu’s software Flo.w will assist and help United Utilities understand what is happening in the North West across their system by enhancing their System Thinking strategy in order to provide the best possible service to their customers.
