After Emu Analytics' successful visit to Mobile World Congress our GIS expert in residence, Alice Goudie, gives us her Top 5 MWC Takeaways, and explains why we will be bowing to our robot overlords sooner than you might think.

Following on from last year’s successful visit, we are once again going to be at Mobile World Congress, in Barcelona later this month (Feb 27th – Mar 3rd). This time around we have some of our real-time contextual analytics work and products on display on the Dell EMC/VMware stand in Hall 3 (Stand 3K10).

Emu Analytics are going to be at the Telco Data Analytics conference in Madrid next week (Tuesday 24th and Wednesday 25th). We'll be on Dell EMC's stand showcasing some of our real-time contextual analytics applications built on mobile network data streams. These solutions cover use cases including mobility, data monetisation, fraud and CVM, so if you are representing a Mobile Operator with aspirations in these areas, then stop by and take a look. Of course our Duty of Care (insert link here) product will also be on display too, allowing businesses to assist their employees in a crisis.

The notion of an operator or application provider monetising mobile location data for analytical purposes (beyond just providing its core service offering) has been spoken about for a long time. Although there are examples of activity across a number of Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and mobile app services, it is still relatively immature in terms of demonstrating significant commercial success.
